Resurrection Reel

We had our annual dance for our church. I organized it this year and made one terrific decision...We had it at a barn. It was super fun. We all brought platters of sandwiches and the church provided all the sides and desserts. We even opened up the doors and the kids played in the meadow when they weren't dancing. Fun times.

Sugar Leaves

Ward was walking upstairs with something stuffed in his cheeks. I stopped him and he looked nervous. So I was nervous. "What's in your mouth, son?" "Sugar leaves." I spent a few minutes in confusion before I realized he had found my new Stevia (natural sweetener) plant. My very small Stevia plant. "Let it grow big before you eat the leaves, ok?" "Ok".  The little booger.

Easter Decor

These are our Resurrection Eggs almost ready for the story telling. I am doing this lapbook type thingy to go with them. Adding more eggs/ parts to the story this year since they are getting older.

My mom got me some fun decor from Pottery Barn (where she works) including this nest and the hanging decoupage eggs.

Garden Update

We just got more compost for the garden and I am hopping to plant more. I have planted cold weather veggies ( lettuce, broccoli, asparagus, onions...) but I am ready to keep going.

These are my tiny asparagus plants just sprouting their ferns and some garlic and a huge rhubarb.
 Lots of onions.
See our pretty peach tree. We drove by a big peach orchard yesterday and it was beautiful with all the blooms.
Broccoli and lettuce from the winter.
Kohl rabi. Does anyone know how to cook one? spinach and lettuce.
My twig bed with raspberries and strawberries.
The girls laying us 3 eggs a day now. Yea!!

 My new hedge plants.
 Flower bed
Lots of lettuce seedlings.

Date Night

I feel the need to post about a date night since it has been quite a while since we went on one. We went to a new Brazilian steakhouse called Rodzio in downtown Greenville. It was very unpretentious and delicious. If you have never been to one it is very fun. They have a salad bar and  a few hot dishes. Then bring meat on huge skewers around to your table and you can say yea or nay to a slice. The meat includes bacon wrapped filet mignon, bacon wrapped chicken, prime rib, sausage, etc.. It is all you can eat. I was amazed how fast I was full though. All those little slices fill you up.

My Accident

So while I was working on our new wall I decided to score a piece of drywall with an exacto blade. Not smart. I sliced my finger almost off down the middle. Yuck. 4 stitches in the emergency room later I have been slowed down  a bit around here. It looked/ looks much worse than it felt. It's fine now just a bit of a nuisance.
