Feast O' Sabbath
Chicken baked slowly at a low temp with olive oil, Kosher salt and rosemary. Sweet potatoes chopped in pieces roasted at a high temp with olive oil, rosemary, and kosher salt. A lovely cucumber salad with olive oil, rice vinegar, salt, and red pepper flakes. Foccacia bread with (yes, you guessed it) olive oil, pepper, Kosher salt and rosemary. (I can't wait till I have more fresh herbs at my disposal.)And maybe a lettuce salad as well. And for dessert a homemade lemon sorbet that makes your lips pucker a bit with tang ( alas, I had to use juice concentrate instead of real lemons this time but it's still good.)

Soup
So this morning I woke up to see a huge pot of soup and a bit of a mess in my kitchen. Joffre decided to make our Sabbath lunch a midnight last night. I look in the pot an got an inkling of the ingredients and turned my nose up at it. Joffre likes to use a lot of ingredients. For instance, just by looking and sniffing the pots contents I came up with this list: curry, noodles, tomatoes, cucumbers, ricotta cheese, collard greens, fish, cream, and mexican peppers. That is probably not the full list.
So when my husband got up and said "you don't have to make lunch. I did." I wasn't what a wife should be...sweet and happy for having a thoughtful husband. I wrinkled my nose at the soup and grimaced. Joffre was defensive and we came to a standstill, went to church and came home.
Well we ended up having sandwiches for lunch (Joffre's suggestion) and soup for dinner. So Joffre is still napping and the kids and I just finished bowls of the soup and you know what.......yep, you guessed it. It's really good soup.I'll just go finish my humble pie.

Noah's Ark
I got this really cool pop up book of Noah's ark at the thrift store. (I love buying books for the bookstore and getting to keep some of the neat ones for ourselves.) Anyway, I gave it to Joffre Jr. and it has little animals made of paper to put into the ark as well as Noah and the fam and little storybook. So Joffre was placing all the animals in the ark which has separated compartments for various animals. ( You don't want to put the bears and pigs together, for example.) So Joffre puts a tiger in a compartment and then he picks up a woman figure.
"Who's this , Mommy?"
"That's one of Noah's son's wives. Maybe it's Ham's wife."
"Better put her in the boat so she doesn't die." He then carefully placed the woman right next to the tiger in its compartment.

Snow?!
Well I woke up to a surprise yesterday morning...6in of snow! It was fun but it was also raining by the morning too. So we bundled the kids up and had fun for about 20 minutes then stayed inside for the rest of the day. Joffre went to work of course. Tomorrow there is supposed to be another snowstorm. Here I was thinking about spring and my garden and we get snow. (I even tried to make a snow angel but it hurt because the snow was icy.) No rolling your eyes, Alaina! I'm glad it only snows once in a blue moon here. It's too cold.
