My brother and his wife had Renata be flowergirl and Joffre be the ringbearer at their wedding. Renata stopped each time she dropped petals. Half way up the aisle she turned to Joffre (who was thankfully right there) and whispered, "I'm out of petals!" He got her to keep going. Joffre Jr got to the front and then when the men sat down he promptly fell asleep. The best man had to take over for him. Thankfully my brother and his wife thought this was charming. Their rehearsal dinner was at the zoo (very fitting for my family in a number of ways.) It was cool. They had animal caretakers come out with animals like a baby alligator and birds throughout the night. I also really enjoyed seeing all the family friends. Lots of fun was had.
