Sellin' my work

I listed three of my works on ebay today and I'm planning an Etsy shop to sell more. I will be selling mostly reproductions and some originals. I'm also going to start selling at The Silver Chair. These are all originals.

The Mural at THe Silver Chair

Here is the mural still in progress. Some close ups and a full picture. I get snatches of time to work on it and spend half the time trying to keep George from eating books but little by little it is coming along. I couldn't get rid of the glare on most of these. Sorry.

Rapunzel, Rapunzel Let Down Your Hair

Here's an illustration of Rapunzel I'm working on. Does anyone remember off the top of their head if what color her hair was in the story. I made it blond/gold in the mural but I like this brunette better. I had a terrible/ unsuccessful time finding the story at the library. I probably was just too distracted by the kids. I don't really care, artistic license and all that but was curious if I was getting it mixed up with Rumpelstilskin. This is oil pastel on craft paper about 12"x24". (I have a really bad habit of just drawing on this paper in odd sizes and not squared edges. Not smart when you are thinking about reproducing).

Guess who modeled for the knight? I had to trim the shoulders and scale him down so it didn't look like he was a giant dragging her out of the window instead of climbing. He hasn't started up the hair so I could do that romantic hair blowing in the wind thingy.
Trina Schart Hyman is so awesome at this sort of illustration. Her Snow White is my favorite.

Mornings

These are my children in the morning:

Renata Joffre

and George.

Joffre is going to a book sale this weekend and he decided to take Renata. He told her yesterday. So this morning she woke up and told me she wanted to go back to bed and sleep so the next time she woke up it would be time for her to go on her trip with Daddy and see Aunt Jen and uncle Tony. So sweet.
This evening to finish the day I took Joffre jr. to the potty and as I'm wiping his bottom he looks at me and says, "Mom, I so proud of you. Good job."(An echo of his Mom after he successfully goes to the potty.) After snorting I managed a, "Thanks, son."

I keep forgetting to take pictures of the store and mural in progress. I'll try to remember tomorrow and post them.

The Swait Family Band

Kiddos

I managed to get all three in one picture. You can have no idea what a feat this is. Especially because they were all happy and there by their own will.

I think I have mentioned that George loves to carry potatoes around the house, nibble on them and leave them in odd places. Well I used all the potatoes yesterday a few with bite marks in them (I hope you are not reading this, Amy. uh...I only used those in our meal...) and replaced them with onions in the basket. Now the onion elf keeps leaving a trail. The best part was when George nibbled one. His face was scrunched up, he looked at the onion for a moment, considered then took another bite.

Here is George in jeans. Oh yeah, you don't get cuter than that. Especially with the little pot belly hangin' over.
